WINTER:  Casual Visitant.  One on 20 and 21 December 2004 at Crab Creek, Mason Co., WV (WA, JB, photographed); one on 25 December 2009 at Green Bottom WMA (GR) and 27 December 2009 at Glenwood, Mason Co., WV (MG, DP); two on 02 January 2012 at Proctorville, OH (WA, photographed, Huntington CBC); four on 16 January 2010 at Byrd Locks & Dam (MG); one present from 18 to 26 January 1997 at Byrd Locks & Dam (photographed, WA, MG).  See Remarks section.

SUMMER:  NO RECORDS.

MIGRATION:

 Spring:  NO RECORDS.

 Fall:  Accidental.  One on 22 November 2009 at Green Bottom WMA (GR).

REMARKS:    The smaller-bodied forms of the Canada Goose are currently recognized as a distinct species, Cackling Goose (Auk 2004).
