WARBLERS

Cape May Warbler  Dendroica tigrina

WINTER:  Accidental. One photographed at a feeder in Huntington, WV, on 06 March 1944 was present during winter (Edeburn et al. 1960).

SUMMER:  NO RECORDS.

MIGRATION:

 Spring:  Fairly Common to Common Migrant from late April to Late May.  Early dates, 20 April 1977 (HS); 24 April 1964 (WA); 25 April 2004 (MG); 26 April 2009 (MKE, JN)..  A very early individual was photographed at a feeder in Huntington, WV, on 06 March 1944 (Edeburn et al. 1960).  Late dates, 23 May 1977 (HS); 22 May 1947 (Edeburn et al. 1960).

 Fall:  Uncommon to Common Migrant from early September to early October.  Early dates, 30 August 2009 (MG, DP); 01 September 2007 (WA, MG, MO); 02 September 1974 (HS); 03 September 2006 (WA, MG, MO, DP); 06 September 1960 (Edeburn et al. 1960); 09 September 1967 (RS).  Late dates, 15 October 1970 (HS); one banded on 11 October 1984 at Ona, Cabell Co., WV (LW).
