Three June records: one on 04 June 1977 at Kyger Creek Power Plant; one on 10 June 1997 at Harris River Front Park (HS); two on 18 June 1989 at Gavin Power Plant (WA, photographed). One July record: Four on 25 July 2004 along the Ohio River at Crab Creek, Mason Co., WV (WA, JB). All summer records of one to four birds.

Spring: Uncommon Migrant from mid-April to early May. Casual Migrant prior to the late 1980's. Early dates, one on 03 April 2000 at Lesage, Cabell Co., WV (HS); one on 12 April 2000 at Byrd Locks & Dam (WA); one on 13 April 1969 at Kyger Creek Power Plant (HS) and three on13 April 2008 at Byrd Locks & Dam (GR); two on 17 April 2006 at Gavin Power Plant (HS). Late dates, two on 22 May 2006 at Byrd Locks & Dam (WA); one on 21 May 2003 at Byrd Locks & Dam (WA); one on 20 May 1992 on the Ohio River at Green Bottom WMA (WA); three on 18 May 2005 at Cheshire, Gallia Co., OH (HS); 17 on 12 May 1990 at Gavin Power Plant (WA, MG).
