Dowitchers  Limnodromus spp.

Due to the number of records of Dowitcher spp., before separation to Short-billed Dowitcher and Long-billed Dowitcher (Pitelka 1950), we have included this listing.  Specific records for Short-billed Dowitcher and Long-billed Dowitcher are given in their respective species accounts.

WINTER:  NO RECORDS.

SUMMER:  Casual Migrant during August.  The only July record is one on 23 July 1988 at Kyger Creek Power Plant (WA).

MIGRATION:

 Spring:  Casual Migrant.  Three records.  Six on 06 May 1956 at Mercer's Bottom, Mason Co., WV (HCL, HKL, TM) (Edeburn et al. 1960).  Eight on 11 May 1969 at McClintic WMA (HS).  Two on 15 May 1994 in Mason Co., WV (WA).

 Fall:  Casual Migrant in September.  One October record: one on 21 October 1967 at Kyger Creek Power Plant (CV) (Smith 1996).
