SUMMER:  Accidental in June: one on 12 June 1977 at Kyger Creek Power Plant (HS); one on 24 June 2006 at Byrd Locks & Dam (WA, MG).  Casual Migrant from mid-July to late August.  Eight July records: one on 13 July 2005 at Gavin Power Plant (WA, MG, HS); two on 17 July 2005 at Green Bottom WMA (DP); one on 19 July 2007 (WA) and 2009 (DP) at Byrd Locks & Dam; two on 23 July 2009 at Byrd Locks & Dam (MG); one on 28 July 2006 at Byrd Locks & Dam (WA); two on 29 July 1987 at Kyger Creek Power Plant (WA); three on 29 July 2000 at Byrd Locks & Dam (WA, MG).  See Remarks section for high counts.

MIGRATION:

REMARKS:

Peterjohn (2001) noted Greater Yellowlegs arrive earlier and depart later versus Lesser Yellowlegs during migration in Ohio.  Our records show the same trend.

Summer High Counts:  6 on 21 August 2004 at Green Bottom WMA (MG); 4 on 12 August 2004 at Byrd Locks & Dam (WA, MG); 3 on 29 July 2000 at Byrd Locks & Dam (WA, MG) and 14 August 2004 at Green Bottom WMA (MG, DP).

Spring High Counts:  40 on 27 April 1969 at McClintic WMA and Kyger Creek Power Plant (HS); 18 (15 at Byrd Locks & Dam, 3 at Green Bottom WMA) on 30 April 2005 ( WA, PD, MG, DP, PT); 13 on 29 April 2005 at Byrd Locks & Dam (WA, MG); 10 (8 at Byrd Locks & Dam, 2 at Gallipolis Ferry, Mason Co., WV) on 22 April 2006 (MG, DP) and 2009 at Byrd Locks & Dam (WA, MG, DP); 9 on 01 April 2006 at Byrd Locks & Dam (MG, DP); 8 on 28 April 2002 at Byrd Locks & Dam (MG, DP).
