Sedge Wren  Cistothorus platensis

WINTER:  NO RECORDS.

SUMMER:  Casual Resident.  Records in July and August have increased since the mid-1990's.  Successful nesting was confirmed at Green Bottom WMA on 09 August 2002 when three singing males and one HY bird were found (HS).  One HY observed at Green Bottom WMA on 10 August 2003 (MG).

MIGRATION:

 Spring:  Casual Migrant from late April to early May.  Early dates, 17 April 2003 (MG); 24 and 25 April 1994 (WA, MG); 29 April 1969 (HS).  Late dates, 24 May ((WA, MG) and 31 May (WA, MG, DP) 2008.

 Fall:  Casual Migrant during early September (Kiff et al. 1986)  Late dates, one collected at Point Pleasant, Mason Co., WV on 27 October 1936 (Wetmore 1937);  one on 08 October 1995 in Mason Co., WV (WA); one on 17 September 2006 (MG).
