WINTER: Casual Visitant. Occasional Rare Resident. There are two Ona CBC records (1979 and 1999). One from 10 December to 16 December 1989 at Green Bottom WMA (MG); five from 10 December to 17 December 1990 at Green Bottom WMA (WA, photographed); four from 22 December 1996 to 16 February 1997 at Green Bottom WMA (WA, MG); one male on 31 December 2007 and one female on 06 January 2008 at Crown City WA (KK, PS); two from 03 February to 22 February 1996 in Mason County, WV (WA, MG); six from 07 January to 16 February 1997 at Byrd Locks & Dam (WA, SS, LW); one on 07 February 2009 at Byrd Locks & Dam (MG, DP); one on 13 February 2010 at Crown City WA (MG).
SUMMER: NO RECORDS.
MIGRATION:
Spring: Accidental. One on 15 March 1958 at Ashton, Mason Co., WV (Edeburn et al. 1960). One on 17 May 1987 in Mason Co., WV (MG).
Fall: Accidental. Two on 25 November 2005 at Crown City WA (MG, DP); one on 14 November 1939 near Lakin, Mason Co., WV and two of this species, possibly shot, in 1938 in Mason Co., WV (Haller 1940).
