SUMMER: Casual Migrant from mid-August to late August. All records of one to two birds. One July record: one on 28 July 1987 at Apple Grove, Mason Co., WV (photographed, WA, TI, RW). Early dates in August, two on 03 August 2006 at Byrd Locks & Dam (WA); 12 August 2004 at Byrd Locks & Dam (WA, JB); two on 13 August 1955 at Mercer's Bottom, Mason Co., WV (HKL) (Edeburn et al. 1960). Late dates one on 27 August 2008 at Byrd Locks & Dam (WA); one on 30 August 2005 at Byrd Locks & Dam (WA).
MIGRATION:
Spring: Accidental. Three records. One on 13 April 2004 at Gallipolis Ferry, Mason Co., WV (WA); one on 03 May 1997 (WA, BD, MG, JLH, KP, GR) and 15 May 1997 (MG) at Green Bottom WMA; one on 08 May 1999 at Byrd Locks & Dam (WA, MG.).
Fall: Casual Migrant from early September (see Summer section) to early October. Seven records. Late dates, six on 16 October 2004 at Green Bottom WMA (KK); one on 10 October 1993 at Kyger Creek Power Plant (WA, CE); one on 07 October 1995 at Byrd Locks & Dam (WA, photographed).
