WINTER:  NO RECORDS.

SUMMER:  Uncommon to Fairly Common Resident.  Prior to 1960's considered a Common Resident (Brooks 1944, Edeburn et al. 1960).  See Remarks section for Singing Male Census data.

MIGRATION:

 Spring:  Uncommon to Fairly Common migrant from mid-April to early May.  Early dates, 01 April 1945 (Edeburn et al. 1960); 10 April 2010 (JW) and 2011 (GR); 13 April (Hall 1983); 19 April 2005 (JB); 20 April 2005 (GR).

 Fall:  Uncommon Migrant from early to late September,  Late date, 21 September 1947 (Edeburn et al. 1960).

REMARKS:

Breeding Bird Survey (Bullard 2003): Cabwaylingo State Forest, Wayne Co., WV (2002): 135 Stops (7 surveys), 64 Mile. Number of Stops Recorded: 2. Total Birds: 2.

Singing Male Census (Koch and Hurley 1972): Beech Fork Lake, Wayne Co., WV (1969): second growth mixed hardwoods-pine woods (elevation, 236m to 289 m): 8 males/100 ha.
